(Black PR Wire) The unveiling of Knives Out at this year’s Spelman-Morehouse Homecoming will connect the mystique of “who dunnit” style storytelling with that of these unparalleled institutions producing leaders to address today’s challenges and leverage opportunities. While thousands gather on these nationally ranked campuses to socialize and celebrate academic legacy and team sports, they will also have an opportunity for an early glimpse at this highly anticipated, old-fashioned murder mystery.
Knives Out centers on the story of an old patriarch who passes away after his family gather for his 85th birthday. Initially believed to be a suicide, once the assigned detective begins to investigate, suspicion arises. Starring Chris Evans, Daniel Craig and Jamie Lee Curtis, the movie has already garnered 99% on rottentomatoes.com, which describes it as “a keenly assembled suspense outing that makes brilliant use of [a] … stellar ensemble.”
“We are proud to partner with Lionsgate to offer a sneak peek of Knives Out – a cleverly made movie that is off-beat, suspenseful and fun,” says Heather Hawes, SpelHouse C’89 Chair. “Without dedicated partners like Lionsgate, it would be difficult to provide these kinds of community events, which help students and alumni enjoy recreational time together while reconnecting with Spelman and Morehouse.”
