Suicide affects people of all ages and across every community. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 49,000 people died by suicide in 2023. This is a reminder that suicide is a national crisis we can’t ignore. Increasing awareness helps break down barriers that make it harder for individuals to seek help.
