Visit booth #35 and play the "Wheel of Health" game
(Black PR Wire) MIAMI -- The Make Healthy Happen outreach team will be participating in the 4th Annual Health and Resource Fair, presented by the Opa-locka Community Development Corporation (OLCDC). The event takes place on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 1 – 4 p.m. at Sherbondy Village Community Center located at 215 Perviz Avenue, Opa-locka, FL 33054.
The Make Healthy Happen booth will feature the new and innovative “Wheel of Health” game. This game provides the opportunity for participants to spin the Wheel-of-Health and learn about the Make Healthy Happen campaign. Booth visitors will also receive personal health packs filled with educational materials on healthy living and a Make Healthy Happen water bottle.
OLCDC transforms under-resourced communities into vibrant, desirable, engaged neighborhoods by improving access to health, education, employment, art, safety and affordable housing. The Health and Resource Fair will provide attendees with health and wellness activities; free health screenings and examinations; free CPR training; free exercise classes; food preparation demonstrations; gifts cards for the first 20 participants; raffles, and free fresh food.
Make Healthy Happen Miami is an initiative of the Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade and the Partnerships to Improve Community Health (PICH). PICH focus areas include tobacco and smoke-free environments, environments with healthy foods or beverages, physical activity opportunities, and prevention of chronic diseases through clinical and community linkages. The campaign includes the use of marketing and media strategies throughout the Miami-Dade local community. Make Healthy Happen Miami is a message from the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County, and is made possible with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
