(Miami, FL) - TI’s Trap Music Museum (TMM) will be hosting a multi-day grand opening in Miami for the Lil Trap House exhibit next Thursday, January 14th, 2021. The Atlanta hot spot held a pop-up event for the exhibition last month and has plans to continue until March, honoring the fellow artists and work within the community focused on the trap music genre. Next weekend, the exhibit will offer yet another interactive celebration of the 305 rappers and artists who have done amazing things while working with local black-owned businesses.
Lil Trap House came over to the historic Overtown District to pay homage to artists such as Uncle Luke, Trina, Trick Daddy, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, and City Girls for their contributions to the trap music culture.
“This is a neighborhood that has gone through a revitalization over the years, so we wanted to bring something to highlight and bring awareness back to the rich Black culture responsible for making the neighborhood what it is,” says Krystal Garner, General Manager of the Trap Museum.
Trap music is an extension of the Rap genre created back in the early 90s and since has become an influential aspect of other music genres, such as K-pop. While most museums have exhibits that provide you with not only the history of art, Lil Trap House produces a moment that allows you to understand the environment you are in.
The activation has accomplished the interactive experience that brought thousands of people to Atlanta, all while infusing the Miami culture, local businesses, and organizations. Belaire, Youth Concept Gallery, and Art in the Park have partnered with TMM and will be included in this weekend’s launch. Guests will be able to also participate in specific themes for each day!
