(Black PR Wire) San Diego, California - The Haitian Bridge Alliance (HBA) is thrilled to announce it is the recipient of a generous grant from Mackenzie Scott along with dozens of fantastic organizations on the frontlines of the most difficult challenges facing our communities. HBA is a grassroots, non-profit community organization that advocates for fair and humane immigration policies and provides migrants and immigrants with humanitarian, legal, and social services, with a particular focus on Black people, the Haitian community, women and girls, LGBTQI+ individuals, and survivors of torture and other human rights abuses.
On behalf of the entire HBA team, we are grateful for the generosity and look forward to the opportunities this grant will provide us to sustainably and effectively scale our work to serve more children and families. Guerline Jozef, Co-Founder and Executive Director of HBA said the following:
"We started HBA only a few years ago with less than 1 0,000 dollars in the bank and a vision to fight for Black and afro-descendent migrants at the border. Today, we serve thousands of the most vulnerable migrants across the US-Mexico border and beyond, providing life-saving services and care, and showing up for those most in need. We are thrilled about this gift and look forward to more philanthropic efforts to help support those most in need."
