Former Beauty Queen – Pastor Richelle; and Grammy-nominated Record Producer, Lamb, will emcee this grand night of Celebrating Diversity, Embracing Culture and Inspiring Unity
(Black PR Wire) MIAMI, FL -- Lights, camera, entertainment, and action! On Saturday, November 4th, Florida Memorial University (FMU) will be in the spotlight as they continue Celebrating Diversity, Embracing Culture and Inspiring Unity during their Annual President's Scholarship Gala. This all out, star-studded, black tie and red carpet extravaganza takes place on the University grounds at the FMU Wellness Center Complex, beginning at 8 p.m. Joining the celebration in this year's affair will be two of Miami's finest and most accomplished young, gifted and talented leaders: the former Beauty Queen and Executive Pastor of a local powerhouse ministry, Richelle Williams, and the Grammy-nominated Record Producer and Hip Hop Artists, Lamb.
A Miami native, Richelle Williams is the former Miss Miami and Miss Jr. Florida America. A contestant in both Florida USA and America pageant systems Richelle became Miss South Florida in her final competition debut for the Miss America system.
She is a graduate of Miami Carol City Senior High School, has received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Florida State University, and a Masters of Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University. A theatre minor, Ms. Williams traveled abroad to study the art of theatre in London, England. She is the daughter of one of South Florida's most legendary leaders, the late great Bishop Isaiah S. Williams Jr., and she serves as the Executive Pastor of Jesus People Ministries Church International.
Richelle was voted amongst her peers as The Miami Herald's Next Generation of Leaders receiving the Visionary Leaders Award for South Florida. She is the first and remains the only female Police Chaplain for the City of Miami Gardens Police Department. An entrepreneur, educator, philanthropist, and Licensed and ordained Minister of the Gospel, Richelle is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Gamma Zeta Omega Chapter.
From the early age of four, Cainon Lamb's involvement with music started in the church. As the son of a pastor, his raw talent landed him the role as a drummer in the church band. And as a youth, Lamb continued to develop his musical talents and athleticism.
An alumnus of Miami Norland Senior High School, he excelled in both music and sports and eventually earned a full scholarship to Florida A&M University and became an All-American wide receiver. During his college years, Cainon received an MPC aka "Beat Machine" as a gift from his mother, the late Regina T. Lamb. He utilized his musical background to create music for his local Gospel rap group called Against da Grain.
After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Lamb went on to play professional arena football with the Florida Firecats. During his Firecats tenure as a record-breaking wide receiver, Lamb and his team won the ArenaCup Championship in 2004.
Never abandoning his love for music, in 2004, Lamb's music caught the ear of Grammy Award winning artist/producer/songwriter Missy Elliott. Known as a music industry trend setter working to establish new and budding talent while producing and writing billboard hits, In 2014, Lamb and his business partner Bigg D joined together to comprise, 12th & Collins Entertainment, LLC. And continues to create billboard hits for multi-platinum artists like: Beyonce, Mary J, Flo-Rida, Missy Elliott, K. Michelle, Monica, Keyshia Cole, Jazmine Sullivan, Trina, Fantasia Barrino, SWV, Jagged Edge and so many more.
With over a decade in the music industry as a strong contender, Lamb's resume has expanded with his new venture as a recording artist, featured on Missy Elliott's latest 2017 release, "I'm Better!" His aim in life is to build a brand that helps and encourages others to reach for their dreams.
The FMU Scholarship Gala is one of the prominent historical fundraisers for the year. A limited number of tickets to attend the Florida Memorial University scholarship gala are still available and priced at $150 per person. Sponsorship packages, ranging from $2,500 to $25,000, are also available. The evening will also include performances by FMU's very own Student Jazz Ensemble and Chorale.
