(Black PR Wire) The Family Christian Association of America (FCAA) Corporate Board of Directors has named Terry Joseph Jr. as the agency’s third President/CEO. He succeeds the outgoing President, Mr. Richard Chisholm, who has retired.
The Miami Native is a graduate of Miami Edison Senior High School, Bethune-Cookman University and Bienville University. Also, Mr. Joseph is formerly the Director of Operations & Program Manager of The James E. Scott Community Association, Inc. (JESCA) Floyd House Juvenile Services Program.
Mr. Joseph joined FCAA as a Senior Program Director in July 2007 and was promoted to the Chief Program Officer (Branch Executive Director) in 2008. As the Chief Program Officer, he was responsible for administrative operations and overseeing the Family Services, Youth Development, Health & Wellness and Facility Departments.
“I thank God, for giving me this ‘new’ opportunity to continue being a ‘servant leader’ here in the community in which I was born, raised and now reside. Thanks to my family, church and friends for your appreciated support. I love working for local community-based organizations, such as FCAA, that give me the opportunities to positively support young black boys and girls and their families growing up in Miami-Dade County! I am greatly appreciative and eager to bring more services to this community. This is just the beginning,” says Mr. Joseph; and in the words of Thoreau: “ ‘To do nothing for others, is the undoing of one`s self.’ ”
Realizing the great responsibility he has of continuing the FCAA legacy of effectively serving and changing lives in this community, Mr. Joseph is excited and geared up to accept any challenges that he may encounter.
In addition, Mr. Michael Horne, Youth Services Director, has been promoted to the position of Chief Program Officer, the position previously held by Mr. Joseph. Mr. Horne has been employed with FCAA for 14 years as the Program Coordinator and Youth Services Director. Ms. Genevieve Carvil-Harris was also promoted to the position of Youth Services Director, which was previously held by Mr. Horne. Ms. Carvil-Harris has been employed with FCAA for 2 years as the Youth Services Coordinator, working directly under Mr. Horne.
