About Allen “Duffy” Samuels

Allen "Duffy" Samuels, born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, overcame the odds as a high school basketball all-star. After obtaining an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, he earned a Division I Basketball Scholarship at Old Dominion University, where he excelled both academically and athletically, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and Counseling. Duffy went on to play professional basketball in Europe and with the Harlem Globetrotters before recognizing the need for positive change in his community. In 1998, he founded Duffy's Hope, Inc., with the goal of empowering youth through mentoring, prevention, and intervention programs, guiding them towards brighter futures.
