(BPRW) Center for Family and Child Enrichment selected as a recipient of the 100 Black Men of South Florida Thanksgiving Food Drive

-FPL support was key to providing meals to families in need-

(Black PR Wire) -- On a mission to help those in need, the 100 Black Men of South Florida (BMSF) has selected the Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) as one of their organizations to benefit from their Thanksgiving Food Drive initiative.

This initiative, which has been in operation since 1989, includes members of BMSF who have purchased and assembled “baskets” with traditional Thanksgiving meals for South Florida residents in need. The 100 and its partners deliver the meals to various social and community partner programs. CFCE was among the agencies selected as a recipient for 2018, largely due in part by the financial support from Florida Power and Light Company (FPL).

“We are thrilled and honored to have been selected for this special initiative”, says T. Delores Dunn, CEO of CFCE. ”Furthermore, we are appreciative for the corporate support from FPL, who through their generous contributions, have allowed BMSF to extend their services.”

The Center for Family and Child Enrichment is a private, nonprofit, community-based organization that serves: children who have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned; children with severe emotional disturbances and in need of mental health care; children in the custody of parents or relatives who are chronic runaways and/or are ungovernable. Their main office is located in the City of Miami Gardens.  “This is what community is about, helping each other, pitching in where you can,” says the Honorable Oliver Gilbert, Esq., Mayor of the City of Miami Gardens.

This year's event will be held at the Publix Supermarket at 9050 Biscayne Blvd., Miami Shores, FL 33138 on Saturday, November 17th from 7a.m. to 3 p.m.
