(Black PR Wire) On February 15-16, Miami Dolphins legendary defender, Jason Taylor, hosted what has become one of the hottest South Florida events supporting local children in need with the 12th Annual Jason Taylor Celebrity Golf Classic Presented by Community Capital Management and Invicta Watch Group. Proceeds from this year’s event benefited the Jason Taylor Foundation, Holtz Children’s Hospital and Take Stock in Children.
The 2007 NFL Man of the Year began the celebration on Sunday evening, February 15th, with “The heART of Giving” themed dinner and charity auction at Bongos Cuban Cafe located at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The star-studded affair featured celebrity guests from the world of sport and entertainment, including TV personalities, NFL Hall of Famers as well as current and former NFL stars. Emceed by Joy Taylor, younger sister of Jason and co-host of FM 104.3/790 AM The Ticket’s Morning Show, the event was highlighted by delicious Latin cuisine, a silent auction, and musical stylings by Que Bolero with Power Parties DJ’s & Lighting. Guests were entertained throughout the evening by live painting artists, musicians, hip hop dancers and, of course, spoken word poets. The original painting, “The heART of Giving”, which inspired the event’s theme, was donated back to the Jason Taylor Foundation by local artist JaFleu and was auctioned off to add to the evening’s proceeds.
Four high school seniors, representing the Jason Taylor Scholars Class of 2015, were honored for their achievements, as they prepare to embark on their college careers, with full scholarships from the Jason Taylor Foundation. The JTF also presented Take Stock In Children with a donation of $42,000, to welcome three new students into the program. In addition, on behalf of the Holtz Children’s Hospital, one amazing young boy was on hand to help accept a $50,000 donation toward continued advancement of the Jason Taylor Children’s Learning Center.
As has been the case since year one, the following day’s golf tournament on Monday, February 16, took place at Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Fla. Celebrity guests and generous community members enjoyed a golf scramble on the historic and exclusive “CaddyShack” course. Blaze Pizza, JuiceBlendz, and PDQ donated food and drinks to all guests throughout the round of golf. When the dust had settled and all the scorecards had been turned in, it was the Seminole Tribe, Hollywood Council group, with Ronnie Brown, who successfully defended their Championship Trophy which also netted each member of the foursome a 48-inch LED smart television, courtesy of Best Buy of Davie Town Center.
As this year’s Classic came to a close, a lucky supporter was drawn as the winner of a 2015 Toyota Corolla S. For the tenth consecutive year, JM Family Enterprises, Inc. and Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC, generously donated a brand new car for the raffle. All proceeds directly benefited the Jason Taylor Foundation.
