(BPRW) COME TO THE TABLE NATIONAL MEETING SET FOR DECEMBER 16th

(BLACK PR WIRE) -- In the wake of several events that have occurred involving minorities and law enforcement over the past several years, we have seen an outcry for the need to improve the relationships between the two.

The perceived lack of accountability, emphasis on cultural sensitivity, historical frustration and miscommunication amongst minorities and law enforcement has begun to sprout civil unrest across this country from Oakland, California to the steps of Capitol Hill, resulting in protest and demonstrations across our country. History has shown that when people are shouting it may get others’ attention, but only through conversation can people be heard and progress made.

In response to this, we have developed a resolute and progressive action plan that we believe will set the tone to lead America in the direction of healing. This is the Come to the Table National Campaign. We would like to invite you to be a part of our informational meeting, which will outline this national campaign that will consist of a series of events allowing concerned residents, law enforcement, youth, clergy, and legislatures an opportunity to come together in order that they may discuss and develop ways that they can actively implement change within the way law enforcement and minorities interact, as well as other progressive minority issues that affect our country.

The Come to the Table Introductory Meeting takes place on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Georgia Hill Neighborhood Center, located at 250 Georgia Avenue, S.E. in Atlanta, GA. Persons interested in attending via telephone are to call 1-567-704-2813; and access the conference code 382343.
