(BLACK PR WIRE)--CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June is Black Music Month, and UnitedHealthcare and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture are again offering the Black Classic Cinema Series, a monthly program showcasing works of black cinema.

The new campaign kicks off Sunday, June 10, at the Gantt Center with a special screening of “Carmen: A Hip Hopera,” a 2001 musical based on Georges Bizet’s 1875 opera and directed by Robert Townsend. In addition, UnitedHealthcare will host an informational Medicare education session, featuring UnitedHealthcare representatives and community leaders, to help Charlotte-area seniors, other Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers learn more about their health care options.

Additional seminars will be held at the Gantt Center, Charlotte-area churches and community centers throughout the year.

UnitedHealthcare and the Gantt Center launched the Black Classic Cinema Series in 2011.
