- Education Ambassadors Adrian Grenier, Jennifer Hudson and George Lopez Say "˜Thanks' With TeacherWishList.com School Supplies in Partnership with Bounty and The Get Schooled Foundation -
(BLACK PR WIRE)--NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Following the successful launch of TeacherWishList.com, and just in time for back-to-school, Bounty has partnered with The Get Schooled Foundation (an organization dedicated to improving education by working directly with students and their teachers) to celebrate and support teachers in their classrooms across the country with the help of actor and HBO Entourage star Adrian Grenier, Grammy-winning singer Jennifer Hudson and People’s Choice Awards-nominated actor and comedian, George Lopez.
Grenier, Hudson and Lopez, with Bounty’s assistance, are helping to fulfill their favorite teachers’ school supply wish lists while also raising awareness for the resources available to teachers through social media for the newly launched TeacherWishList.com. The trio will not only assist their favorite teachers, but will also encourage fans to help register teachers in their communities on the site. Grenier, Hudson and Lopez will fulfill the wish lists of:
•Adrian Grenier’s drama teacher, Harry Shifman of LaGuardia High School in NYC
•Jennifer Hudson’s music and choral teacher, Richard Nunley, formerly of Dunbar Vocational High School and currently teaching at Kenwood Academy High School in Chicago
•Maria de la O Awakian, principal of George Lopez’s elementary school, San Fernando Elementary School in San Fernando, CA
“I am honored to work with Get Schooled to support TeacherWishList.com,” said Adrian Grenier. “Mr. Shifman truly impacted my school years and I’m delighted to lend a hand and encourage others to show their gratitude by making a positive difference in their teachers’ lives.”
TeacherWishList.com, a School Family Media site supported by Bounty, allows teachers to register for classroom supplies and allows parents to make a difference by fulfilling unmet needs. The site launch is the result of a recent Bounty study that found that the nation’s teachers report spending nearly $500 a year out of their own pockets for school supplies.
Through September 27th, teachers who register their classroom wish lists on TeacherWishList.com are entered for a chance to win a $462 grant from Bounty to help fulfill their wish lists. Additionally, schools with five or more registered teachers are entered for a chance to win a grand prize $25,000 art classroom makeover from celebrity designers Robert and Cortney Novogratz from HGTV’s Home by Novogratz. Finally, each teacher who registers with TeacherWishList.com will have the opportunity to receive a Bounty coupon by mail.
“We are elated to help make a positive difference in the lives of the teachers who have motivated Adrian, Jennifer and George,” said Laura Lewis external relations manager, Bounty. “Bounty is dedicated to offering a helping hand, so teachers can focus on what really matters: fostering creative, hands-on learning environments for our kids.”
Teachers and parents across the country can learn more and find out how they can get involved in their communities by visiting TeacherWishList.com.
