(BLACK PR WIRE/FLMU-MIAMI) –– Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American poet, lecturer and essayist said, “Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.” Failure or temporal setback, as some like to put it, is part of the equation of success. Failure isn’t supposed to break us but rather make us stronger. For those of us who have had failures in our lives, we have rich experience to help us carry us on. For others, this article will be an eye opener as to what to do when we are faced with failures.
After a fall, there is nowhere to go than to rise up. The common thing to do when we fall is to sleep. However, exceptional people do the uncommon thing which is rise up. The first step to take when reinventing ourselves is to gain confidence. Confidence is a great value that requires faith in God and in one self.
We must consider the fact that, we can’t prevent certain misfortunes from happening to us but however, we can to respond to them in a positive way. Confidence is rising up to face the shame and deciding to change people’s perception by working hard. It is also seeking help from experts, reading good books, attending seminars and taking remedial classes. Though this wouldn’t be easy we must note that no battle was won by poor preparation.
Reinventing is also repacking oneself for success. Both mean changing features of a product. The next thing to do when faced with a comeback is changing negative attitudes. The law of cause and effect propounded by the great philosopher, Socrates says “For every effect, there is a cause.”
Failure doesn’t just happen; it could be caused by laziness, fear, using the wrong method, working with the wrong people, or poor preparation. In this case, we must identify weakness and correct them with the right attitudes. We must decide not to achieve success temporarily but to strive in maintaining it. The purpose of reinventing or repacking a product is to gain a new image in the eyes of the customer. In the same way, when new habits are formed people will see success rather than failure in us.
Most importantly, we must note that failure is normal for every person who wants to succeed. The bible says in Proverbs 24:16, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.” Thomas Edison in inventing the light bulb failed about 2000 times. However, after his success, he managed to give the world one of its best inventions, the light bulb.
The little baby who is learning how to walk doesn’t achieve it easily. He begins by crawling, falling and rising up several times and finally, standing up to feet and walking. In the same way, we should never give up whenever we fail but rather rise up to face the challenge with a different mindset and method.
In conclusion, let us notice that in the same way success cannot be spelt “u,” failure cannot also be spelt without “u.” Both require a personal choice and a determination. Be a success and make the world a better place to live in.
